ALBANY — Among the assaults reported over the weekend in Albany was a stabbing that resulted in a hospitalization, reports from the Albany Police Department show.

An aggravated assault was reported from 312 Vick St., the site of Bill Miller Community Center, at around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, said Phyllis Banks, spokeswoman for the APD.

Montavious Simon, 20, said he was walking across the playground at the center when he was attacked by three unknown men. He told officers that one of the suspects stabbed him several times in the abdomen while the other two held his arms, Banks said.

Banks said the case was turned over to investigations, and that Simon was transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Nothing was taken, and no description of the suspects was immediately available, Banks said.

A spokeswoman for Phoebe said Monday that Simon had been discharged. There was no word as of Monday afternoon regarding possible arrests.
