ALBANY, Ga. — Albany police responded to at least 48 incidents Wednesday into the early hours of Thursday, according to available police reports. Police responded to incidents including:

— A five-vehicle crash at about 8:30 a.m. Thursday at North Slappey Boulevard and Ledo Road resulted in no serious injuries, according to a police report. Charles Smith Jr., 72, of Smithville was charged with failure to yield.

While en route to a crash with sirens and emergency lights engaged, police Cpl. Larold Dent’s HEAT patrol car was struck by a 2009 blue Toyota Avalon in the left turn lane. Dent, 36, is “doing fine,” said Phyllis Banks, police spokeswoman.

— Deceased person on the 2400 block of Cardinal Street;

— Burglary on the 2500 block of Cherokee Drive, the 1000 block of East Fourth Avenue, the 1000 block of St. Andrews Drive, the 400 block of Valencia Drive, the 300 block of Carriage lane and the 100 block of Thornton Drive.

— Theft by taking a spool of carpet on the 200 block of South Jackson Street;

— Financial transaction card theft on the 1800 block of Sycamore Court;

— Forgery in the first degree of vehicle documents on the 600 block of West Oglethorpe Boulevard;

— Identification fraud, an account opened by an unauthorized person on the 800 block of South Westover Boulevard;

— Entering auto on the 100 block of North Westover Boulevard;

— Motor vehicle theft, a car was rented and not returned on the 700 block of East Oglethorpe Boulevard;

— Domestic (unfounded) on the 400 block of Wadkins Avenue, the 700 block of West Linden Avenue, the 100 block of South Slappey Boulevard, the 500 block of Park lane, the 600 block of Longbow Drive, on the 1100 block of Colquitt Avenue, the 600 block of Bruce Avenue and the 1100 block of Clark Avenue.

— Simple battery on the 900 block of East Oglethorpe Boulevard.

DOUGHERTY POLICE: Dougherty County police responded to at least 14 calls, according to available police reports.

Police responded to incidents including:

— Narcotics investigation after a traffic stop at Mock and Moultrie roads was turned over to Albany-Dougherty Drug unit after finding less than an ounce of marijuana;

— Domestic violence (unfounded) verbal altercation about a man with two pregnant girlfriends on the 400 block of South Westover Boulevard;

— Domestic violence (unfounded) verbal altercation about use of a vehicle on the 400 block of South Westover Boulevard.

DOUGHERTY EMS: Emergency medical services responded to 52 calls on Wednesday. There were 34 medical calls, 15 trauma calls and three other calls. Medical calls included, five chest pains, four respiratory problems, one faint, one altered mental state, one fever, two cardiac arrests, one choking, two mental problems, one stroke symptoms and 16 various medical. Trauma calls included eight vehicle crash injuries and seven falls. Other calls are typically standby for other units and patient transport.

LEE SHERIFF: Lee County deputies responded to at least six calls, according to police reports.

Deputies responded to incidents including:

— Wanted person from Worth County arrested on the 100 block of Philema Road;

— Criminal damage to property on the 100 block of Cypress Point Circle;

— Theft of two bicycles, an $80 Roadmaster and a $100 Mongoose, on the 900 block of Lovers Lane;

— Possession of marijuana, possession of alcohol and possession of drug related paraphernalia on the 2800 block of Ledo road;

— Forgery, a man passed an altered $5 bill off as a $100 bill on the 800 block of South US 19.
