ALBANY — Drones are in the air and rescue boats are in the waters of the Flint River near Ray Charles Park this afternoon searching for a person who reportedly fell into the swiftly flowing water.

Albany police officials did not give any details, but did confirm that rescue efforts were under way Monday for a second time in a week after an unidentified person fell into the Flint, which is swollen from recent heavy rains.

A city of Albany employee fell into the Flint last week while gathering water samples, and a weeklong search so far has not turned up the body of that employee, identified by city officials as Darrious Stephens, 36.

This story is ongoing.
