Police searching for gunman wearing hoodie

ALBANY — Albany police are looking for an armed man following a robbery Monday morning at the DOCO Credit Union at 2101 Rosebrier Ave.
Albany police and Federal Bureau of Investigation officials said the gunman was about 5 feet 7 and was wearing a dark hoodie, blue jeans and with his face covered by a Halloween-type mask. Police said the robber was carrying a black semi auto handgun and a blue canvas bag. No shots were fired and there were no reports of injuries.
The gunman demanded money from a teller, got an undisclosed amount of money and was thought to have fled on foot, police said.
The robbery was reported at 9:14 a.m. Dougherty High School and Dougherty Middle School were placed on lockdown. Officials with the Dougherty County School System say both facilities were operating normally by 10:50 a.m Monday.
FBI Special Agent in Charge J. Britt Johnson, in conjunction with APD Chief Michael J. Persley is requesting the public’s assistance regarding the robbery.
