ROGER MARIETTA: Much is at stake in Tuesday’s elections

Roger Marietta

I stopped by the Board of Elections Office (Wednesday) and chatted with our registrar. She was disappointed in the low early voting turnout. I share her concerns and see it every day with apathetic students. I promised her that I would do everything I could do get people out to vote.

We need to be encouraging everyone to “get out and vote.” Please take the time to talk to your friends, family, and co-workers about taking advantage of early voting until today at the Board of Elections Office. And continue to remind folks to vote Tuesday.

There is a lot at stake in Tuesday’s primary elections. For Republicans, there is the governor’s, U.S. Senate, and U.S. House races, which are hugely significant primaries. Locally, our state representative, County Commission chair and School Board races will be decided in the Democratic Primary.

Thanks for voting!
