ROUNDUP: Omega police find drugs, stolen items at abandoned house
OMEGA, Ga. — Police in a small southwest Georgia town discovered crack cocaine, marijuana and stolen items at an abandoned house, police officials say.
Omega Police Chief Eric Windmoller tells the Tifton Gazette, that his department discovered about 20 rocks of a substance believed to be crack cocaine, marijuana and a stolen lawnmower.
Police began watching the house after a neighbor reported increased traffic at the abandoned house on Watson Circle and, after noticing several code enforcement violations, police began investigating the property more thoroughly.
Windmoller says that prosecuting the owner of the drugs will be difficult since it’s an abandoned house, but he says he’s glad just to get the drugs off the street.
