ALBANY — At least two shootings were reported in the Albany area over the weekend, reports show.

Reports show a home invasion and aggravated assault was reported at 605 N. Washington St. at 10:52 p.m. on Sunday. Phyllis Banks, spokeswoman for the Albany Police Department, said officers responded to the address in reference to a shooting, and upon arrival, the officers made contact with James Jones, 49. He had a gunshot wound, Banks said.

The other witness with him stated that someone knocked at the door and rushed in with guns, and that Jones got shot a few moments later, Banks said. A spokeswoman with Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital said Jones was in good condition on Monday.

Banks said the home invasion remained under investigation Monday.

Another shooting incident was reported at 1111 W. Lincoln Ave. at around 5:30 a.m. on Saturday. In that incident, a 27-year-old man and his girlfriend were asleep when they heard gunshots and found two bullet holes located in the bedroom window, Banks said.

No injuries were reported in the West Lincoln Avenue incident. The case remains under investigation, Banks said.
