“It is a travesty that the elderly in this community are subsidizing pay raises and other programs with property taxes and school taxes. Top end Social Security benefits place a person well below the poverty line and many elders have worked their entire lives to purchase their homes. Property taxes are taking away their ability to have a decent life in Albany and Dougherty County.”
