ALBANY – The National Weather Service is warning of potentially damaging thunderstorms and hail during severe storms throughout the region today.

The agency predicts storms will develop in the late morning, with severe weather possible into the early evening.

The primary threats are isolated damaging wind gusts, potentially up to 60 miles per hour, followed by hail, some of which could be quarter-sized.

Heavy rainfall could result in localized flash flooding. Looking ahead, a wet pattern will continue through Friday.
