Congratulations, Albany-Dougherty city fathers/mothers. I guess you figured out that it was much more important to spend $30 million rehabilitating the Harlem area than spending that money on a police department that has enough officers to actually make traffic arrests. I bet that by next census, you’ll have driven away another 10,000 citizens
Until the Democrats and news media become “woke” to the reasons voters sent an incompetent narcissist and convicted felon back to the White House, we are going to be in danger of losing our democracy, and it may already be too late. That Man Without a Family
You would think that APD leaders would realize by now that their ongoing strategy of completely ignoring traffic violations and petty crime while maintaining little visibility in the community has likely contributed to the volume of more serious crimes. We deserve better.
Relatives in Baton Rouge tell me that at 65, your property taxes cannot go up as long as you live. Relatives in Gainesville do not have to pay property tax after age 70. What is wrong with our commissioners not doing that for our seniors?
You hit the nail on the head, Fletcher: The mess that was going on at Pretoria Fields was a low-rent soap opera. And the former CEO was absolutely right: Anyone who spent time there regularly knew the owners had allowed some really unsavory and ill-fitting types into the hen house.
Ten to one the racist text messages sent out after Trump’s election were sent out by a black person.
Albany gets a $12 million loan for work at sewage plant. Several years ago, it was estimated to cost over $125 million for the total project. But the town clowns are spending millions on pickleball courts, swimming pools and a park? How and why do we allow this to happen?
Thank you, Tara, for an insider’s view of what was going on at the brewery. After reading yours and Carlton’s stories, I come down on the side of the staff, not the (mis)management.
Dougherty County installed speed bumps on Van Cise Road to slow down speeding cars. Now the cars have moved over to Holly Hill Road, one road over, and are speeding down our road. Now we need speed bumps.
I’ll use a squawker’s comments to showcase Trump’s cabinet nominees: “Could Trump be more incompetent? There is so much work to do around economic development and crime, and instead he will waste our time, money, and patience to repair his constantly bruised ego. A selfish, petulant child.” Fits like his hand-made gloves.
At last, the time has come for the chosen one, the True President to return to his seat of power. All you woke twinkies who’ve been speaking ill of this great man will now eat your words. America is set to arise. All hail the chosen one.
Re $6M Harlem project: (1) Why? (2) Is a health & wellness center a not-for-profit supported by taxpayer grants or is it revenue generating? (3) Who are the developers, what’s their experiences and their investment? (4) How much are taxpayers inputting? (5) Is this another $12M empty transportation center fiasco?
