ALBANY — An Albany woman and man were arrested Monday after they were found having sex in a car, police officials say.

The arresting officer stated that while on early morning patrol on the 700 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, he was flagged by an unknown male who told him two people were having sex in a red vehicle on the 300 block of Cherry Avenue.

When the officer determined that two were likely having sex, he activated the blue lights on his patrol vehicle.

According to the officer, after suspects Ashley Yarbrough, 22, and Willie Lee, 66, were placed in the back of two separate patrol vehicles, he and another officer looked into the back of the suspect vehicle and found at least two syringes, a white rock substance and a suspected “crack” pipe.

During the initial investigation, Lee stated to the officer that he had been paying for sex for the past eight years and this was the first time he’d been caught, the investigating officer reported.

Police officials say Yarbrough was charged with public indecency, possession of a controlled substance and prostitution, while Lee was charged with public indecency and pandering. Both were transported to the Dougherty County jail, where Lee was later released on $2,000 bond.

On Wednesday Yarbrough remained in jail in lieu of a $7,500 bond, jail officials say
