CUTHBERT – U.S. Highway 82/State Route 50 in Cuthbert is scheduled to close Tuesday to allow the city utility department to access a leaking water line.

The water line is in the area of the Cuthbert water tower near Webster Street. The line is owned by the city, but it is underneath U.S. 82 and a portion of the road will have to be removed to locate the leak and repair it.

Westbound traffic will be directed to take U.S. 27 to SR 216/Court St. The detour for eastbound traffic will begin at SR 216. Traffic will be directed to U.S. 27 and return to U.S. 82. At this time the detour is expected to remain in place for a week.
