Use the holidays to recharge for the upcoming semester

What signals the beginning of the holidays, and what exactly do the holidays mean to you?

I am pretty sure that for every person, there is a different reason and memory that reminds them of the holidays and its special meaning for them. For most it’s a general recipe that basically works for the holidays overall, most people experience it usually with some variation.

The temperatures are dropping, the smell of hot chocolate lingers in the air, people are functioning on a much happier mood and if you listen closely you just may hear carolers beginning their rounds. It is quite clear that the holidays are eminent.

In the midst of all of this holiday activity, it is quite easy for a college student to temporarily lose their way and forget the meaning of the holidays and the very important role that they play in this ever-changing movie.

During the holiday season, everyone feels a need to reconnect, mend broken ties and establish a feel-good vibe until the new year when they will promptly forget all vows and agreements to do better and fall back into their tried-and-true routine.

With holidays looming in the near future everyone is attempting to improve their lifestyles and start over, as well as many college students across the world. Vows of more scheduled study time and less partying are briefly mentioned, but we all know exactly how long you are going to continue with your new trend: the time it takes for you to ball your list up and throw it in the trash.

However, most make an effort to remind themselves to reconnect with old friends and family members more, and this is one decision that most make it a point to stick, especially while they are in town with an abundant source of both family members and friends to choose from. At this moment in time, a student must be a superhuman and remember every family member and every friend that they once ate lunch with in high school. It is very easy to forget that you are human and only one person.

To most, the holidays is a mixture of tradition, family time and savoring the constantly-dwindling goodness of mankind. In these times it is easy for someone to forget, and that is why it is so important for everyone to remain diligent about maintaining all the good of the holidays. This is the time you have to bond with your family and enjoy being away from school without worrying about assignments being due or whatever meeting you are required to attend. Take this time and enjoy your friends and their unique personalities, remind yourself why you became friends, and if you cannot remember, create a new one. Attempt to take advantage of the holidays while you can and indulge as much as possible.

Use this time to recharge and get ready for a new semester. Create memories to take back to school with you, so when your days are bleak there will be good times to get you through. Balance time with your family and friends to maximize your fun. Also now is a this time of giving, so feel free to give time freely and remember that it can all leave you so easily.
