Victims of the June 27 triple homicide on Alberson Drive were shot 25 times

ALBANY — New and gruesome details have emerged surrounding the June 27 triple homicide on Alberson Drive, during which one woman, Adrionna Holmes, 26, and two men, Demarquis Williams, 25, and Tyquis Smith, 23, were shot and killed.

After Holmes’ parents reached out to a local media agency this week searching for answers in the nearly six-month-old case, law enforcement officials revealed that the victims were not only shot, but they were shot a total of 25 times, a detail law enforcement officials had not previously released.

According to Albany Police Department reports, officers were called to the residence at 2314 East Alberson Drive around 9:05 p.m. on the night of the incident and found the three deceased victims, along with Holmes’ two children, a boy, 1, and a girl, 4, who were inside the home when the murders took place.

Dougherty County Coroner Michael Fowler confirmed the number of bullets found in the bodies of the victims and said Thursday that, although no weapons were found at the scene, two different guns were used to commit the murders.

“The males were both shot eight times each, and the female was shot nine times,” Fowler said. “That’s 25 bullets in three victims. Also, there were a number of bullets found in the walls and surrounding area. We are still waiting for the ballistics test to come back to confirm the exact calibers used, but we do know that there was a large-caliber and a small-caliber gun used.”

Asked why these details had not been previously released, Fowler said he is often pressured by the Albany Police Department not to reveal such details in active investigations.

“When they (APD) are first investigating something like this, they want me to be limited about what I say,” Fowler said. “Generally, more details come out after someone has been arrested, but they want to be tight-lipped about things until then. The idea being only the guilty party and the police will know those details.”

One arrest has been made in the case. Ticorey Frazier, 21, was picked up on a different charge, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, when he was discovered walking on the 2200 block of South Madison Street carrying an AR-15 rifle. Frazier also had on him the wrong ammunition for the gun. Three 7.62×39 bullets were discovered in his pockets, and one 7.62×39 round partially chambered was found in the weapon he was carrying. An AR-15 shoots a .223 round.

APD spokeswoman Phyllis Banks said tip information helped develop Frazier, who was already in jail, as a suspect in the East Alberson homicides. Detectives brought him in on Aug. 16, questioned him and charged him with three counts of murder, she said.

According to Banks, police are still searching for two other suspects in the case: Kareem Williams and Shon Mallory. Anyone with information about their whereabouts is asked to call the Albany Police Department.

“This case remains active with the search continuing for both individuals (Williams and Mallory),” Banks said. “Currently, warrants for murder have only been issued against Mallory. Detectives are encouraging anyone with information regarding their whereabouts to call Crime Stoppers or the Albany Police Department.”
