WALT SPECHT: Estate tax only benefits politicians
WALT SPECHT
Make no mistake. The estate tax was established a means of others obtaining property that would have normally not come on the market.
By forcing the heirs to sell all or part, those coveting this land or business had access to its purchase. Plus, it was another tax-the-rich thing that benefited the government. The graduated income tax and the estate tax with value limits are way beyond the boundaries of constitutionally allowed encumbrances on our citizens. However, because they work and protect the status of our welfare pork barrel government, it hasn’t been successfully challenged.
Why should the government coffers profit from the hard work of individuals, only to make politicians richer in wealth and get them votes because of the additional funds?
