ANNETTE BULLARD: Appreciating a birthday serenade
LETTER TO THE EDITOR
By Annette Bullard
On Jan. 29, God blessed me to celebrate my 83rd birthday. I felt so divinely honored because my medical staff had given up on me in late November of 2015 due to sudden acute health issues and disabilities. I thank God for three more good years. I pray God lets me become “Mrs. Hezekiah” and live 15 more years.
This birthday was really a bash! The gifts and guests have been trickling in since the day before until today. The most crowning act and highlight of the morning was when the phone rang and my great friend Carlton Fletcher called to express greetings and best wishes. I pressed the speaker phone as he belted out his own rendition of “Happy Birthday to You.” We ended with applause, laughter and good wishes for many more years.
