Restaurant’s service went above and beyond

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

My mother-in-law is 80 years old and weighs only 85 pounds. She has not felt well the last several days. Saturday at 7 p.m., she finally tells me she wishes she had some okra, she thinks she can eat a little bit of fried okra.

In a desperate efferent for her to eat, I went to BJ’s II on East Oglethorpe. I didn’t see any okra on the bar and asked if they had any and explained my situation to the lady.

She told me we can’t have mom feeling bad and wanting okra. She talked to the kitchen staff and informed me they are cooking some and it will be just a few minutes.

Today my mother-in-law ate some okra and enjoyed every bite.

Whoever said customer service and caring people don’t exist in Albany needs to try BJ’s II on East Oglethorpe. Please don’t think this is an advertisement for the restaurant. It is to show good people and business still exist.

People who have never had an elderly loved one with illness may not understand why this was so special, and I pray you never find out.

Thank you, BJ’s II.
