Albany State was able to tie the game and send it into extra innings in the top of the ninth. Griggs smashed a single through the left side, and Eichelberger scurried home to tie the game at nine.
The two teams went scoreless for three of the extra innings before ASU finally scored in the top of the 13th. Consecutive singles by Lawrence Hyde, Smith and Quantico Dodson-Williams started a four-run inning that gave the visitors a 13-9 advantage. Armstrong State only managed one run in the bottom of the inning.
Feagans finished the game 3-for-4, while Griggs had three hits and two RBIs. Smith and Eichelberger each had two hits and two RBIs. Wimbish and Dodson-Williams also had two hits apiece. Gary Cannon (1-0) picked up the mound win, while Roulhac earned the save.
