From staff reports
Albany State’s Jeremiah Reddell was named to the 2024 NCBWA NCAA Division II Preseason All-American first team. Reddell is coming off an unbelievable season where he went a perfect 12-0, with 83.1 IP, 5 complete games, 1 shutout, and 72 strikeouts. Reddell also compiled an opponent’s .226 batting average against for the Rams who finished 38-11 and 30-2 in conference play. Jeremiah Reddell will return this season for his 3rd year where he already has 20 career wins. The Rams expect a big season out of Reddell, Landon Kiefer who was named 2023 NCAA Division II freshman of the year, and Brady Davis.
Coach Scott Hemmings stated, “What an honor for Jeremiah to be named as a Preseason 1st team All-American. He has worked extremely hard to get to this point we are proud to be a part of this journey with him. We return our number 1, 2, and 3 in the rotation and look forward to a great year.”
Reddell was the only player to make an All-American team form the SIAC conference.
Reddell had this to say about his preseason award,” It is a great honor to be recognized by the NCBWA as a first team Preseason All-American. It is a tribute to the hard work and time the Albany State coaching staff has put into me and the hard work I have put in to better myself. It’s truly a blessing.”
