Blue Tide swimmer claims state championship
Antony DeMott wins the 14-and-under long course championship in the 50-meter freestyle

Antony DeMott, a member of the Blue Tide swim team, won the 50-meter freestyle at the Georgia 14-and-under Long Course Championships last weekend at the Georgia Tech Aquatics Center.
DeMott set a Blue Tide team record in the win, finishing in 24.73 seconds. He also had second-place finishes in the 100-meter freestyle and the 100-meter butterfly, setting a team record in the 100 free of 53.84 seconds and finishing the 100 fly in 59.80 seconds.
The Blue Tide finished fifth in the small team division, with Allison Bell, Lynnsey Bell and Landry Liston aiding the team’s effort.
In other competition this summer, the Blue Tide finished fourth in the City of Atlanta Dolphins Diversity Invitational, with Tissa Evans setting a team record (44.06 seconds) in the girls 11-12 age group 50-meter breaststroke.
