Branch: I want wins and rings — not attention
Looking stylish in his white coat and black slacks, New England Patriots receiver and Albany native Deion Branch, left, talks to QB Tom Brady as they deplane at the Indianapolis International Airport on Monday for Super Bowl XLVI on Sunday against the New York Giants. Brady and Branch have formed quite the bond over the years, and Brady was devastated when his good friend was traded to the Seattle Seahawks one season after catching a Super Bowl-tying record 11 of Brady’s 23 total passes in the Patriots’ 24-21 win against the Eagles. As a result of that monster game, Branch was named the 2005 MVP, becoming the first — and still the only — Albany native to both win a Super Bowl ring and the MVP honor.
