ALBANY, Ga. | The Eckerd College Tritons completed a three-game sweep of the Albany State Golden Rams Sunday by a final of 8-4. The Golden Rams lost 14-4 and 7-0 in the double header on Saturday.
In Sunday’s game, after falling behind 1-0 in the 2nd inning, ASU scored two runs in each of the next two innings highlighted by a two-RBI single to center field by Travis Ray Jr. giving the hosts a 4-1 lead. However, that was all the Golden Rams would manage as the Tritons scored seven unanswered runs to take the game 8-4.
Johnathan Cirullo and Theo Smith logged two hits apiece.
Malik Barrington (2-1) went 5.1 innings in the loss, allowing only three earned runs and striking out four batters.
Albany State (3-7) opens a three-game series with Point University on Friday, February 22nd. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 pm at Golden Rams’ Field at West Campus.
