FLOWERY BRANCH — Jammie Robinson’s latest opportunity with the Atlanta Falcons did not take long to arrive.

Just weeks after Atlanta added the former Lee County standout to its practice squad, the Falcons signed Robinson to the active roster ahead of Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens.

The team created the roster opening by placing linebacker Yasir Abdullah on injured reserve.

Robinson’s promotion continues a football journey that began locally and included a perfect season at Lee County. He helped anchor a Trojans defense that recorded six shutouts in 2018 as Lee County finished 15-0 and captured the GHSA Class 6A state championship.

Robinson was named the Class 6A Defensive Player of the Year, earned first-team all-state recognition and was selected as the Albany-area Defensive Player of the Year.

After beginning his college career at South Carolina, Robinson transferred to Florida State and developed into an NFL prospect. The Carolina Panthers selected him in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft with the 145th overall pick.

Robinson spent the 2023 and 2024 seasons with Carolina before joining the Falcons. He has appeared in 29 NFL games, including two starts, and has recorded 21 tackles, 14 of them solo.

Atlanta initially signed Robinson to its practice squad earlier this season, giving the former Trojan an opportunity to continue developing while learning the Falcons’ defensive and special-teams systems. His move to the 53-man roster now makes him eligible for a larger role on defense and special teams.

The Falcons also elevated defensive end Drake Jackson and linebacker Bralen Trice from the practice squad for Sunday’s game. Those are temporary game-day moves, while Robinson’s promotion places him on the active roster. It marks Trice’s third elevation of the season.
