ALBANY, Ga. | The Georgia College Bobcats came to Albany Wednesday and swept two games from the hometown Golden Rams, winning 2-0 in the first game and 5-4.

Game 1

A pair of unearned runs in the first inning ended up being the difference in a 2-0 loss to the Bobcats.

Strong pitching from the visitors limited the Golden Rams to only three hits in the game. Faith Harris, Lavette Tucker, and Caitlyn Gooch all registered singles in the contest.

Aryn McGowan (1-7) pitched 7.0 innings in the loss, allowing no earned runs on six hits.

Game 2

After falling behind 4-0 early, Albany State pushed four runs across the plate in the home half of the 2nd.

Lauren Lowery singled down the right field line to open the frame. Kendyl Davis reached two batters later setting up a two-RBI single from Harris to left center. Tucker then cranked a two-run home run over the right centerfield wall to knot the game at 4-4.

A triple from Amber Coy followed by a wild pitch scored the eventual game-winning run for the Bobcats.

Lowery (1-7) worked a complete game in the loss.

ASU (2-14) has an extended break before hosting a doubleheader with Southern Wesleyan University out of South Carolina on Friday, March 1st. First game is scheduled to begin at 3:00 pm.
