In Bound gymnasts qualify for regionals

ALBANY — In Bound Gymnastics had 12 gymnasts qualify for Xcel Region 8 competition through their finishes April 7-8 at the Georgia Xcel state meet in Gainesville.

Twenty gymnasts from In Bound Gymnastics competed at the state meet. The Region 8 meet is April 26-29 in Daytona Beach, Florida.

From In Bound’s Gold Team, Lily Suber, Myer Bernstein and Kori Payne qualified for regionals. Suber finished fourth in the all-around, tying for fourth on the floor exercise. Bernstein finished eighth in the all-around, placing third on the floor. Payne finished ninth in the all-around, tying for fourth on the floor.

In Bound’s Silver Team had six regional qualifiers: Samantha Collins, Zoie West, Maggie Irvin, Aniya Brown, JaLin Nelson and Lauryn Perry.

Nelson finished fifth in all-around and second on the vault. Irvin finished seventh in all-around and tied for first on the uneven bars. Brown finished seventh in all-around and third on the vault and floor. Perry finished ninth in the all-around and tied for third on the floor. West finished 11th in the all-around and fourth on the floor. Collins finished 14th in the all-around and fourth on the floor.

Bronze Team qualifiers include Emmy Taylor, Hallie Kay Wright and Emree Wright. Emree Wright finished 10th in the all-around and tied for seventh on the uneven bars. Taylor finished 14th in the all-around and tied for fourth on the floor. Hallie Kay Wright tied for 14th in the all-around and tied for sixth on the vault.

In Bound’s other state participants were Landy Kate Bice, Ever Mayhew, JaeLynn Wallace, Anna Chapman, Lee Ann Feng, Madisyn Price, Jaden Spears and Emily Kirksey.
