Lee County is in strong position to take over as the top-ranked team in Georgia’s Class 6A football polls following a 47-6 win Friday over Hardaway.

The second-ranked Trojans (3-0) put up 40 points in the first half, with Jase Orndorff throwing two touchdown passes and running for another. Nikko Cruz also had two touchdown runs, and Tay Mayo had a 100-yard interception return for a score.

Top-ranked Tucker, meanwhile, lost 35-21 at Colquitt County.

“We came out and took care of business (Friday),” Lee County head coach Dean Fabrizio said. “We are getting better each week.”
