WASHINGTON — Ryan Raburn hit an RBI single with two outs in the last of the ninth off Fernando Salas as the Washington Nationals beat the New York Mets 3-2 Monday.

The hit to shallow left scored Matt Wieters, who led off the ninth with a walk, took second on a walk by pinch hitter Stephen Drew and went to third on a flyout by pinch hitter Adam Lind.

The winning pitcher was Matt Albers (4-1), who gave up two runs in the ninth, while Paul Sewald (0-3) was hit with the loss as he allowed the walk to Wieters.

New York’s Curtis Granderson hit a two-run, pinch-hit homer on a 0-2 count with two outs in the top of the ninth off Albers to tie the game at 2.

Phillies 4, Pirates 0

PHILADELPHIA — Aaron Nola took a no-hitter into the fifth inning and threw seven scoreless innings as Philadelphia downed Pittsburgh.

Nola retired 14 batters before Jordy Mercer lined a double down the left-field line and just out of the reach of third baseman Maikel Franco with two outs in the fifth. The Phillies, who have won four of their last six games after losing 16 of 19, got two-run home runs from Freddy Galvis and Maikel Franco.

Nola (6-5) allowed a total of four hits and struck out eight batters, continuing a string of strong starts. He kept the Pirates off the base paths, and the rare times he got into trouble, the right-hander got out of it with punchouts.

Brewers 8, Orioles 1

MILWAUKEE — Brent Suter struck out a career-high eight batters in a spot start and the Milwaukee offense jumped on Orioles starter Wade Miley early then cruised to victory.

Filling the spot vacated when Chase Anderson landed on the disabled list a week ago, Suter (1-1) held Baltimore to an unearned run on four hits and a walk.

The Brewers’ bats did their part, putting four on the board in the opening frame against Miley, who lasted just 1 1/3 innings and allowed seven runs on seven hits and two walks with two strikeouts.
