The NHL announced Friday the league will not suspend Nashville Predators center Colton Sissons for the match penalty assessed to him, and he will be allowed to play in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final.

Sissons cross-checked Penguins defenseman Olli Maatta’s face inside the final minute of the Predators’ 6-0 loss in Game 5 on Thursday night in Pittsburgh.

Sissons was given a match penalty, triggering an automatic review by the league.

The Department of Player Safety conducted a review of the incident, and now Sissons will be eligible to play in Game 6 on Sunday night at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

–The Philadelphia Flyers signed defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere to a multi-year contract extension, the team announced.

While the Flyers did not divulge the terms of the deal, TSN’s Pierre LeBrun reported that it is a six-year, $27 million contract with a cap hit of $4.5 million per season. Gostisbehere will earn $6 million per year in the first two seasons, $5.25 million in the third and $3.25 million in the final three years.

Gostisbehere, who was set to become a restricted free agent on July 1, scored seven goals and set up 32 others in 2016-17 and finished fourth among NHL defensemen with 21 power-play assists.

–The Columbus Blue Jackets signed goaltender Joonas Korpisalo to a two-year contract extension.

The deal is through the 2018-19 NHL season, general manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced. Terms were not disclosed by the team, but TSN reported the deal is worth $1.8 million total.

Korpisalo, 23, is 23-16-5 with a 2.68 goals-against average, .915 save percentage and one shutout in 45 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets. He also owns a 15-16-5 record with a 2.57 GAA, .908 save percentage and two shutouts in 37 career American Hockey League games with the Lake Erie/Cleveland Monsters and Springfield Falcons since making his North American pro debut at the end of the 2014-15 campaign.

–The New York Islanders agreed to terms with forward Steve Bernier on a two-year, two-way deal.

Bernier recorded 26 points (16 goals, 10 assists) in 33 games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League last season. During the 2015-16 season, he tallied a goal and five assists in 24 games with the Islanders.

The 32-year-old Quebec native also appeared in six Stanley Cup playoff games with the Islanders.
