The top overall seed in the NCAA Tournament took a hit on Tuesday, as Virginia announced freshman De’Andre Hunter will miss the entire tourney with a broken wrist.

Hunter, the ACC Sixth Man of the Year, sustained the injury in the conference tournament. He will have surgery next Monday and will be sidelined for 10 to 12 weeks.

Hunter scored 10 points in 18 minutes off the bench against North Carolina in the final of the ACC tournament over the weekend. He averaged 9.2 points and 3.5 assists in 33 games this season.

Virginia’s NCAA Tournament run begins Friday against No. 16 UMBC in Charlotte, N.C.
