PELHAM — Pelham High School swept past Seminole County Saturday night in Region 1-A basketball play.

The Pelham girls rolled to their eight straight victory and claimed the regular-season Region 1-A crown with a 63-21 victory over Seminole County on Senior Night. The team honored Monica Webb, Aaliyah Williams, Destiny Thomas and Mahogany Brown.

Thomas led the way with 19 points, while Mahogany Randall finished with 18. Aaliyah Williams scored 11.

Pelham improved to 20-1 overall and 13-0 in region play. They have just two region games left.

The Pelham boys, meanwhile, took a 47-41 victory.

Dewaun Jones led the Hornets (11-8, 10-3 Region 1-A) with 14 points. Cassius Allen, who was honored as part of the team’s Senior Night, added 10.

The Hornets also honored seniors Latavius Moore and Roscoe Jones.
