From Staff Reports
Albany State rained out again
Albany State’s NCAA Division II South Regional baseball tournament game against Mississippi College was rained out again Sunday, extending the Golden Rams’ stay in Lakeland, Florida, into a fifth day.
ASU and Mississippi College completed four innings of their elimination game Saturday, with Mississippi College leading 4-2. The teams never took the field Sunday, and they will try again at 10 a.m. today at Tigertown.
Weather permitting, the Albany State-Mississippi College winner will move into another elimination game immediately following, taking on Nova Southeastern at Tigertown.
Tampa and Delta State are scheduled to play a winners’ bracket game at 10 a.m. today at Florida Southern’s Henley Field.
The remaining tournament schedule will be determined. Florida Southern, Tampa and Delta State currently reside in the winners’ bracket, while Nova Southeastern, Montevallo, Mississippi College and Albany State each have one loss in the double-elimination tournament.
