Stevens named baseball coach at Andrew College

CUTHBERT, Ga. — Andrew College Athletics announces the hiring of Sean Stevens as the new Head Men’s Baseball Coach. Stevens joins the Andrew College family after serving as the Pitching Coach, Recruiting Coordinator and Performance Coach at Middle Georgia State University for the past three years. Athletic Director and Head Men’s Basketball Coach Brian Skortz announced the hiring on Friday, July 24.

“We are excited to welcome Coach Sean Stevens to the Andrew College family,” said Athletic Director Skortz. “Sean is a proven leader whose passion for the game, commitment to developing young men and vision for our baseball program made him the clear choice. Throughout the hiring process, it was evident that he understands the importance of building a culture centered on accountability, hard work and excellence. We are confident he will make a tremendous impact on our student-athletes and continue to elevate Andrew College Baseball both on the field and in the classroom.”

As the Fighting Tigers complete their transition into the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, Stevens will become the first Head Baseball Coach at Andrew College to compete in the NAIA and the Southern States Athletic Conference.

Stevens brings nearly a decade of collegiate coaching experience to Cuthbert, having coached at multiple levels while also serving in some of the nation’s top summer collegiate baseball leagues. Throughout his career, he has built a reputation for developing pitchers, recruiting high-level talent and implementing performance-driven training programs that have helped student-athletes reach their full potential. His coaching experience includes stops at Middle Georgia State, Keystone College, Edward Waters University and Trinity Baptist College, while also coaching in organizations such as the Cape Cod Baseball League, Coastal Plain League and Prospect League.

Stevens joins the Andrew College Athletics staff following the resignation of former Head Baseball Coach Adam Biss.

Before entering the collegiate coaching ranks, Stevens played professional baseball in Argentina, the Desert League and the Empire League of Professional Baseball. A former student-athlete at Thomas University and Aurora University, he brings a well-rounded approach and is the premier choice to lead Andrew College Baseball into the future.
