Undefeated Central Florida No. 10 in AP poll

There is only one remaining undefeated team in the nation and that squad is nowhere near the top of the final regular-season Associated Press Top 25 poll.
Central Florida checks in at No. 10 with its 12-0 record. The ranking matches the highest in school history.
The Knights are headed to a major bowl game after beating Memphis on Saturday in the American Athletic Conference title game.
Central Florida finished with a No. 10 national ranking in 2013 after the Blake Bortles-led squad defeated Baylor in the Fiesta Bowl.
This season’s undefeated regular season occurs two seasons after UCF went 0-12.
Scott Frost revived the program and announced after Saturday’s victory that he has accepted the coaching opening at Nebraska, his alma mater.
The nine schools ranked above UCF mirror the top nine in the College Football Playoff rankings, also announced Sunday.
Clemson received 43 first-place votes and is ranked No. 1, while No. 2 Oklahoma got the other 18 first-place votes. Georgia is third and Alabama is fourth to round out the CFP teams.
Ohio State is fifth and Wisconsin sits sixth. Auburn is No. 7, followed by USC and Penn State.
Following UCF is Miami at No. 11 and Washington at No. 12, followed by No. 13 TCU, Notre Dame and Stanford. LSU is No. 16, ahead of Oklahoma State, Michigan State, Memphis and No. 20 Northwestern.
Washington State is No. 21, followed by Virginia Tech, South Florida and Mississippi State.
Boise State moves into the poll at No. 25 after beating Fresno State in the Mountain West title game. Fresno State was No. 25 before the defeat.
