ALBANY — A trio of Albany-area girls basketball standouts were named to the Georgia Independent Schools Association Class AA all-state team, while Terrell Academy boys standout Jalin Wimberly was also selected to all-state team.

Gracie Pollock and Karlie Jones were selected after guiding the Westwood Lady Wildcats back to the state championship game for the second straight season. Westwood lost to Brentwood by one point.

Terrell Academy’s Hannah Harrell was also named.

Wimberly, who played his senior season at Terrell, played a key role in helping the Eagles win their first region basketball title since 1981. Wimberly also guided the Eagles to an appearance in the state quarterfinals.

In addition to Jones and Pollock, the Westwood girls placed Abby Santos and Brianna Thompson on the Region 3-AA team. Harrell, meanwhile, was joined by Erin Horne and Madison Lamb on the all-region team.

On the boys side, Wimberly was joined on the Region 3-AA team by teammates Jared Donalson and Zeb Waters. Wimberly was also named the Region 3-AA player of the year, while Terrell Academy coach Robert Bryant was named the coach of the year.
