An early lead helped the Worth County Rams baseball team defeat Brooks County 10-5 late Friday in Quitman to stay unbeaten on the season.

The Rams are now 8-0 on the season.

Hunter Goodwin drove in two when he doubled in the first inning to stake the Rams to an early lead, but Brooks rallied to tie the game at 2 in the bottom of the inning.

But Worth County took the lead for good with one run in the second inning when DJ Edwards hit a sacrifice fly to drive in a run.

Worth scored three runs in the fifth inning. The big inning was driven by a stolen base from Braden King, a groundout by Jack Fletcher and a groundout by Jeremiah Reddell.

Worth County had 11 hits in the game. King, Riley Kelly, Jake Souter and Goodwin each collected two hits for Worth County Rams Varsity.
