The situation at Ashley Riverside is sad but expected…Trump heard “mostly cheers” during his ill-advised visit to the NFL playoffs…

The situation at Ashley Riverside is sad but expected. City commissioners refuse to admit that Code Enforcement simply hasn’t done their job in months. The government center needs an audit badly. They also fail to acknowledge that evil 501(c)3 organizations, many church-based, lurk in our community to provide dirty housing to take advantage of low-income people. The saddest part is that many commissioners constantly rant for more of these housing scams.
Trump heard “mostly cheers” during his ill-advised visit to the NFL playoffs at Madison Square Garden, where he slept part of the time and was recorded gorging himself on fatty foods? This man is so out of it, I guess it’s Satan or some other power keeping him alive.
Trump is Charlie Brown and Iran is Lucy. Every time Trump tries to kick the ball, Iran takes it away.
I’m glad citizens complained about the Bob White Coffee building that has been sitting on the lot at the mall for a long time. But some of the folks wondered why Code Enforcement has not done anything about it. I would bet one reason is one of the Code Enforcement county trucks sits over on Covey Road all during the day, and has for two or three years. I don’t know when that person works, if they do at all.
You’re right, Squawker. We’ll probably have to build a new exit and create several more lanes of traffic to account for the crowds of people who will be rushing here (if it ever is finished) to see Lorenzo and King’s folly, the “virtual civil rights tour.”
Four organizations founded in 1913: Federal Reserve, FBI, IRS, Anti-defamation League. WWI started a year later. Not a coincidence.
The buzzwords of our community in almost every sentence some politician or nonprofit leader or a preacher says every time they open their mouths: food insecurity, affordable housing, high-paying, better jobs and the always available “giving back to the community.” Dang, man, find something else to talk about.
What an amazing story by Kathryn Crockett about Dr. Clay. She rightfully says Dr. Clay was primarily responsible for turning the Lee County School System into one of the state’s best, and thus starting the growth that has made the county one of the fastest-growing in the state.
Carlton tried not to upset folks this week, but there were just too many other options.
Squawker who thinks Luke Bryan’s and Cole Swindell’s music comes even remotely close to the music of greats like George Jones, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, etc.: Are you out of your freakin’ mind?
I’m tired of people putting down the greatest president that has ever served our country. He is working hard to make this country great, and all he hears is negative comments. It’s time we all got behind this great man and supported him, not criticize him.
