ALBANY — Entering auto and burglary incidents are included in the cases the Albany Police Department has responded to since Monday, available reports show.
A synopsis made available by Phyllis Banks, spokeswoman for the APD, said an entering auto is reported to have taken place between 11:05 p.m. on Monday and 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday on the 1700 block of 12th Ave.
The victim told officers that someone entered into a blue 2014 Chrysler 200 that had been left unlocked and took a black purse, a driver’s license, a Social Security card and currency. There were no known witnesses or suspects to the incident, Banks said.
Another entering auto is reported to have occurred between 10:30 p.m. on Monday and 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday on the 2200 block of Sharon Avenue. The synopsis provided by Banks said someone entered an unlocked white 2011 Toyota Sienna and took a Regions Bank card.
There were no known suspects or witnesses as of Tuesday evening, Banks said.
Banks said another unlocked vehicle, a silver 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe, is reported to have been the target of an entering auto between 5 p.m. on Monday and 6 a.m. on Tuesday on the 2300 block of Doncaster Drive. A DVD player was reported stolen, and there are no known suspects or witnesses.
Banks said a burglary took place sometime between 11 a.m.-3:45 p.m. on Tuesday on the 1100 block of Julia Avenue. The victim said the suspects, who remain unknown, entered her house by breaking the window on the west side door to gain entry.
Once inside, they ransacked the house and attempted to steal the TV — which was moved from its original place.
Another burglary was reported on the 700 block of Corn Avenue, and is believed to have taken place sometime between 2:20-2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The victim in that case told police the unknown suspects entered the unlocked front door and stole a Direct TV cable box, Banks said.
