Dr. Jose Tongol is a fine musician, and all his other pursuits make him an exceptionally well-rounded man. But he deserves to be lauded mostly for his life-saving skills. How many in southwest Georgia are alive today because of this man’s healing talent?

Repeating the same lie that “Trump is the best president we have ever had” doesn’t make it true. What great man lies about falling asleep during his boring cabinet meetings then later confesses to what we already knew? What great man makes a racist post of the Obamas, deletes it, then blames it on a staffer? What great man disparages American athletes who call out him and his GOP cult for what our nation has devolved into? The truth will set you free.

Breaking News: The True President is suffering from “Obama Derangement Syndrome.” The Chosen One is trapped inside that genius mind.

There has to be more to that Chehaw kerfuffle than meets the eye. Somebody ain’t saying something … which is, I guess, par for this course we’ve set.

Watching on TV the story of the anniversary of the 5-year-old girl getting killed by gang gunfire in Americus. Why do people continue to release these balloons to honor someone? They just come down and harm farm animals and wildlife, not to mention the litter in the countryside. Georgia needs a state law to stop this foolish practice.

Two exceptional articles in The Herald about two exceptional men: Milan Patel and Jose Tongol. They’ve taken different paths to get where they are, but both are worthy of our thanks and praise.

“Ours may become the first civilization destroyed not by the power of our enemies, but by the ignorance of our teachers and the dangerous nonsense they are teaching our children. In an age of artificial intelligence, they are creating artificial stupidity.” — Thomas Sowell

Our governor hit the nail on the head, and Albany and Dougherty commissioners need to pay attention. The best way to help those in need is through good job opportunities. Not a pickleball court. Not a free apartment. Not a community center. Albany must have safe, policed streets so that private employers will add good jobs. Stop wasting tax dollars on costly toys.

At least The Albany Herald is taking the time to publicize and honor people who matter in this community. Our city and county waste time and our tax money to pay tribute to people who did nothing worthy of anyone else’s attention. And it’s especially sickening of the ones who seek this attention.

All you Bad Bunny haters, eat your words. This talented man showed hundreds of millions of viewers why he is the most popular artist in the world. You can’t understand his words? That’s on you. He speaks the universal language: Music.

Has anyone checked to make sure that the downtown apartment complex can’t be salvaged or sold to a private developer? I can’t wait to see what new poorly constructed housing project our crooked commissioners try to make us pay for now. I am sure the shady contractors are already lined up and ready to bid.

Looks like some county officials and crooked developers are trying to get a free hand-out from the city’s coffers. The federal government’s been conned; hopefully the local government will know better.
