Search of Dougherty residence leads to seizure of guns, cash, suspected marijuana

Police seized about 10 ounces of suspected marijuana, three rifles, a handgun and other items during the Tuesday search.

ALBANY – Officers with the Albany-Dougherty Special Investigative Unit recovered suspected marijuana, money and weapons during a search of a Dougherty County residence.

Officers searched the 313 Barton Ave. residence and made two arrests.

The search turned up about 10 ounces of suspected marijuana, along with three rifles and a handgun, as well as digital scales and sandwich bags. Also seized were a number of weapon magazines, drum magazines and ammunition, police said.

Ketrtez Frazier, 34, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug-related objects, hindering the apprehension of a fugitive, obstruction of law enforcement and four counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Police charged Christopher Williams, 22, with hindering the apprehension of a fugitive and obstruction of law enforcement.

The weapons will be tested to determine if they have been used in connection with any violent crimes, police said.
