The Art Park on Pine will host artists from around the region for a juried street art mural competition. Each artist, or team of artists, will get a designated section of wall space in the Artpark from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. to paint a mural. The winners will be announced at 7 p.m., followed by an after party.

1836 Creek Wars: May 24 through 25, Historic Westville. In 1836 the Creek Wars tore Alabama and Georgia apart as two sides clashed in bloody battles all over western Georgia. View re-enactments of two important battles of the 1836 Creek Wars, visit with the Creek Indians in the historic Wells House and experience cultural activities such as storytelling, dancing and handicrafts. Natural Resources Conservation Workshop: June 8 through 12, ABAC in Tifton. Experts from universities and natural resource agencies will provide students with lectures and hands-on activities to enhance their understanding of Georgia’s vital natural resources. Workshop Director Luke Crosson said the workshop gives students a unique, one-of-a-kind opportunity to learn about Georgia’s natural resources from experts in each field utilizing classroom and field trip activities to help interested young people learn the basic principles and the responsible use of natural resources. Independence Day Celebration: June 27, 4-10 p.m., Marine Corps Logistics Base-Albany.
