Gas prices impede the freedom to travel

I recently heard that an optimist laughs to forget; a pessimist forgets to laugh!

Well, with the lack of jobs, downsizing of the economy and high gas prices, it becomes harder and harder to stay an optimist or to laugh.

President Obama promised change. Well, if you drive a mid-sized vehicle and you pull out three $20s at the pump to pay for your gas, that’s what you will get back — change, in the form of coins.

The oil companies know about change before the consumer, like Aug. 18. A barrel of crude nationally was between $82 and $83, and price at the pump will probably drop a few cents. If the barrels of crude increase in price, the pump price will go up instantly.

Believe it or not, gas prices impede one of our greatest freedoms, which is travel.
