GBI to investigate Dawson infant’s death

DAWSON — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced on Friday it will assist in the death investigation of a four-week-old infant in Terrell County.

According to a GBI media release, Terrell County 911 emergency received a call on Thursday regarding an infant in a critical situation. Annie Jackson told officials she had awakened and discovered that her son, Sherrine Stover, Jr. was not breathing.

The release stated that EMS personnel and the Dawson Police Department responded to the residence on the 900 block of Johnson Street in Dawson and transported Stover to a hospital where the infant was pronounced dead.

According to the GBI, the death remains under investigation pending an autopsy.
