ALBANY — The Albany Police Department and the FBI are searching for a suspect in connection with the robbery of the DOCO Credit Union at 2101 Rosebrier Ave. in Albany on Wednesday afternoon.

According to reports, the incident occurred around 12:30 p.m.

“The suspect entered the bank and handed the teller a note demanding money,” APD spokeswoman Phyllis Banks said. “The teller complied and he left the bank.”

According to officials, the bandit was last seen in the parking lot behind the Tallulah Massey branch library.

“APD is in the area searching for a black male wearing a USA ball cap, gray pants, olive green t-shirt and dog tags,” said Banks. “It is unclear at this time if the suspect actually had a gun. He told the teller he had a weapon, but the teller never actually saw it.”

The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of money and fled the scene.

“No one was injured and the FBI is on the scene and has taken over the investigation,” Banks said.
