ALBANY — Albany police officers responded to a report of a shooting at an East Albany residence early New Year’s Day, where they made contact with an injured man who reported he had little recollection of what had occurred.
According to a report from Albany Police Department spokesperson Phyllis Banks, units were dispatched about 4 a.m. to a residence on the 100 block of Marie Road, where they made contact with Dykerius Cross.
Cross, who was described in the report as being “extremely uncooperative,” told responding officers that an unnamed person hit him in the head with an unknown object and that he did not know where it happened.
Dougherty County EMS also responded to the incident and transported Cross to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital to be treated for his injury.
The report also stated that officers were unable to make contact with any suspect and that the active case has been forwarded to the investigations bureau.
