ALBANY — The Albany Police Department said an accident in which one of the city’s solid waste employees was injured Monday afternoon is under investigation.

Phyllis Banks, spokeswoman for the APD, said officers were called out to the 500 block of West Society Avenue at 4:09 p.m. after reports that a solid waste employee had been injured by garbage truck driven by Troy Anthony Martin, 36.

Banks said the cause of the incident remains under investigation. The injured person, Keanon Serrod Tumblin, 42, was transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, and his condition was not immediately known.

The incident is being investigated by the APD Traffic Unit, Banks said.
