ALBANY — The Albany Police Department is continuing to investigate a shooting incident that occurred Wednesday morning on Mossydale Lane in Albany that left the victim in critical condition.
APD announced late Wednesday that an arrest had been made, but the charge was not connected to the shooting, according to officials.
Reports indicate that Megan Roquemore, 31, who lives at 127 Mossydale Lane where the shooting occurred, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana less than an ounce after officers investigating the incident discovered the drugs inside the home.
“Roquemore lives at 127 Mossydale Lane and was acquainted with shooting victim Nicholas Gillison,” APD spokeswoman Phyllis Banks said. “Roquemore was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana.
“Roquemore’s home was searched during the shooting investigation and the marijuana was discovered inside. Gillison frequented the home, according to detectives. No more charges have been filed against Roquemore at this time.”
According to officials, a call about an injured person came in shortly before 10 a.m Wednesday. When officers arrived, they found 35-year-old Gillison suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his head and chest, police said.
Gillison was transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital where, as of this morning, he remained in critical condition.
Banks would not comment on a possible motive for the shooting. “The incident is under investigation. There are no known suspects or motive at this time.”
