ALBANY — A fight erupted at an Albany nightclub over a Facebook post early Friday morning leading to a car chase and shooting across the city, said Albany Police Department Lt. Keithen Hall at a press conference Friday.
“At about 1:30 a.m. the Albany Police Department responded to 703 South Slappey, which is the Sports Zone Lounge in reference to a fight,” said Hall. “Upon arrival shots were fired. From there individuals exited the club and got into their vehicles. Then the victims that were involved in the fight were chased by three other vehicles to the 100 block of Sunset. Shots were fired as they were driving.”
“They left that location and drove to 600 Sands. At that point they were also followed and chased and more shots were fired.”
Officials said a Facebook post enraged two sisters which set off the chase and ensuing gun fire.
“We at the Albany Police Department can not tolerate that (kind of behavior),” said Hall. “We will not tolerate that kind of senseless assault on individuals. They put themselves in danger, they put other members of the community in danger and they put the Albany Police Department in danger.”
According to Hall, three vehicles have been impounded, and Joshua Mallory, 26, Felecia Glasco, 21, and Barbara Glasco, 22, have been arrested on multiple counts of aggravated assault involving a firearm.
“We got three individuals in jail, but two others that were with them fled the scene. We are still looking for them,” said Hall. “Please, let’s put these guns down.”
Police are asking anyone who has any information regarding this incident to call Albany Area CrimeStoppers at (229) 436-TIPS (8477) or the Albany Police Department at (229) 431-2100.
