ALBANY – South Georgia residents in need of carpet or upholstery cleaning services now have a group of experts in the home-cleaning business to meet their needs. Home cleaning specialists Chem-Dry now have a franchise in Albany.

Ketzel’s Chem-Dry opened to meet the growing in-home carpet and upholstery cleaning needs in the Albany area, according to co-owner Deborah Ketzel, who opened the business with her husband Richard.

“My mom lives in Lee County, and my husband and I — he is from Texas — moved back to help out,” Deborah Ketzel said. “And my son was in the carpet-cleaning business. He convinced us what a good company it was, and I was impressed with Chem-Dry’s method, which uses about 80 percent less water. That dramatically cuts down on the drying time and extends the life of the carpet. If a carpet stays wet, bacteria or mold can grow, basically all the stuff you were trying to clean out.”

According to Ketzel, by using a green-certified solution and the company’s proprietary hot carbonating extraction method, Chem-Dry harnesses the natural power of carbonation and cleans better than any of their competitors.

Using the Chem-Dry method, millions of microscopic bubbles penetrate deep into the carpet fibers and lift dirt, grime and allergens to the surface where they can be easily extracted, Ketzel explained. The unique process provides a deeper clean that allows carpets to dry faster – in hours rather than days – and leaves the fibers healthier than when steam cleaned, by removing 98 percent of common household allergens from carpets and upholstery and 89 percent of airborne bacteria when a sanitizer is added.

“I’m excited to have started a business with a world-class organization like Chem-Dry that has a superior, healthier cleaning process and the highest customer satisfaction ratings in the industry,” Richard Ketzel said. “We are proud to be serving the Albany area. Homeowners in this area care about quality, want a service that is effective while also being safe and healthy for their family, and want trustworthy and friendly service professionals coming into their home. We’re proud to offer all of those benefits, for not only homes but businesses as well.”

Bill Zinke, vice president of marketing for Chem-Dry, said he believes the Ketzels have displayed the skills and commitment necessary to launch and grow the Albany business.

“It’s really rewarding to see passionate, high-quality franchise owners like Rick Ketzel come into the Chem-Dry network and benefit from our growth as we expand across the country to meet the growing demand for our industry-leading services,” Zinke said. “Our franchisees are the foundation of our company, and we are committed to helping them to be successful in their businesses. I’m very confident that the training, coaching and support Rick has received, coupled with his strong business background, will help him be very successful in the Albany market.”

Chem-Dry is a world leading carpet and upholstery cleaning company with 3,000 franchises in more than 50 countries. Chem-Dry cleans 11,000 homes and businesses every day and more than one billion square feet of carpet every year worldwide.

Serving Dougherty, Lee and Terrell counties, Ketzel’s Chem-Dry offers not only carpet and upholstery cleaning services, but also pet urine removal and tile and stone cleaning.
