GBI investigates Tift County shooting of 16-year-old

ALBANY — One teenager is in stable condition while another is facing criminal charges following a Sunday afternoon shooting in Tift County, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said Wednesday.
According to a GBI news release, the Tift County Sheriff’s Office requested the agency’s assistance in investigating the shooting of a 16-year-old at a residence on Sumner Road in Chula.
As a result of the investigation, Jacob Scarberry, 17, of Chula, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, the news release said.
David Haire, public information officer for the Tift County Sheriff’s Office, said Scarberry has already been released on bond.
