Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College officials visit Brooks County

QUITMAN – Members of the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College Foundation Board met recently with key members of the Brooks County Board of Education and The Langdale Company.

ABAC President Tracy Brundage, Brooks County School System Superintendent Vickie Reed, Langdale President Wesley Langdale, State Rep. John LaHood, Georgia State School Superintendent Richard Woods, ABAC Foundation Board Chair Jaclyn Ford, and State Senator Sam Watson attended the community luncheon held at the Brooks County Performing Arts Center, along with farmers, educators, bankers and other community leaders from Brooks County.

Members of the ABAC administration highlighted the ongoing partnership between the school system and the college, specifically in agriculture and education.

“ABAC and Brooks County both have a long-standing tradition of being leaders in the agricultural industry,” Brundage said. “We are proud to support their initiatives and partner with them. It was wonderful to meet so many community leaders, and I was impressed with how many are ABAC alumni. I was pleased we were given the opportunity to be here and share who we are and how we can support the community.”

“Like in Brooks County, ABAC rallies around our students and makes sure they have all the support they need to be successful,” Brooks County native Ryan Hogan, the vice president of enrollment, marketing and communications for ABAC, said. “Similar to home, obstacles are addressed head-on, and we do everything we can to help our students overcome any challenges they face. Like in Brooks County, everyone knows everyone at ABAC, and it genuinely has the family feel that reminds me of growing up here.”

“Today was a great day for strengthening our relationship with ABAC,” Reed said. “Our partnership has always been strong, but we want it to be even stronger. Today’s events will help us put faces to names and build those close ties. We hope to continue our long-standing partnership into the future.”
